speedo cable cable replacment

do you have to pull the drive unit?

No you don't, the outer cable housing is screwed onto the drive unit at the trans. You'll see the end nut.
The speedo dash cover needs to come off and to be on the safe side I would remove the speedometer.

Thought I'd post here instead of creating another thread with the same subject.

Where is the best place to get a cable replacement? Could someone confirm the correct length of 35"

I found this one but would prefer something with better reviews.

John Bordas speedometer shop in Texas makes a nice one.
