Level lift to clear ground and hand turn to see , or you talking about maneuvering trying to park?
Standing till does not have big turn radius

Power or manual steering?

But there can only be a few things causing hard steering on the ground: Bad bearings, or very low tire pressure.
Under way, could be several other issues.
We need more information.
Raise the front wheel off the ground, and tell us what you find, OK?

Don't forget swingarm bearings and rear wheel alignment. Sometimes problems that seem to come from the front of the bike come from the rear of the bike.

Low tire pressure, run ‘em both up to 35 psi, then lower them till it starts to feel sluggish. Best is in there to what feels good, maybe 28-32?

How about a little more input from Larry May, the original poster?
