I prefer the loctite Teflon pipe sealer to the tape, a couple strands of the tape internally could screw up ball seats, check valves etc. My opinion.

The thing is that on flared fittings there is no point in using any sealer at all, just don't assemble dry, use some lubricant in the threads and mating surfaces. You are not dealing with any pressure here, mostly just gravity....

PS: Liquid Teflon, looks like tooth paste, is easier to use than the troublesome tape. And clean off the excess with some brake clean for a clean, professional, installation.
PPS: Never use any silicone/RTV product on your motorcycle.....

I use teflon tape on fuel line fittings. First install I used nothing as recommended, it leaked. Added one turn of tape, never leaked again. This is with stock components. Good luck.
